Museum of the Moving Image Rebrand
When given the prompt to choose a museum to rebrand, I wanted one that had an interesting history and an evolving industry I could get
inspiration from. Naturally, I chose the Museum of the Moving Image. I began by conducting research on the museum.
I learned that the Museum of the Moving Image exists to expand public understanding and appreciation of the art, history, technique and technology of film, television, and digital media. They collect, preserve, and provide access to moving-image related artifacts via multimedia exhibitions and educational programming.
I wanted my re-brand to give new life to the institution with a new mark and identity system. I began by sketching logos that would convey the idea of shift
and movement. I had 3 rough systems across 3 applications to work with. I narrowed the systems to one that would strongly convey my message. I applied that system to a website, a mobile layout, and printed tickets for the museum.
